lululemon Savasana at Sunset
Challenge:
lululemon San Diego wanted to strengthen its local presence while embodying the brand’s commitment to wellness and community connection. The challenge was to create a unique experience that went beyond traditional retail engagement, fostering mindfulness, celebrated movement, and supporting a meaningful cause.
Goal:
Design and promote a community event that would drive awareness for lululemon, connect with the local wellness community, and raise funds for OG Yoga, an organization empowering marginalized San Diego youth, adults, and seniors through yoga.
My Role:
As Regional Social Media Manager, I directed the strategy and storytelling for Savasana at Sunset, a four-part summer yoga series hosted at the La Valencia Hotel. I oversaw campaign promotion across lululemon’s regional social channels, partnered with OG Yoga on co-branded content, and collaborated with the hotel to align guest experiences with lululemon’s brand ethos. My role also included curating event coverage and amplifying user-generated content to extend reach beyond attendees.
Key Results:
Community Engagement: Hundreds of participants joined across the four-week yoga series
Social Impact: Campaign amplified OG Yoga’s mission, raising awareness and funds for their community programs
Content Resonance: Event visuals and storytelling (sunset flows + happy hour experiences) created high engagement on Instagram, extending lululemon’s brand presence in the region
Brand Affinity: Strengthened lululemon’s positioning as a wellness leader and authentic community partner in La Jolla
Results in Context:
The Savasana at Sunset series successfully brought together wellness, community, and cause-driven storytelling. Each week, participants gathered on the ocean-view terrace for restorative yoga, creating both a physical and digital ripple effect of mindfulness. The campaign not only built deeper local connections but also amplified lululemon’s role as more than a retail brand and as an active force for community wellbeing.
