Global Run Day 2018

As part of the lululemon San Diego Community team, I helped bring Global Run Day to life through a high-energy, community-driven event in partnership with local businesses, including AleSmith Brewing Company. Designed to celebrate movement and connection, the event brought together runners from across the city for a group run followed by post-sweat festivities featuring local vendors, music, and wellness activations. I supported key aspects of planning and execution, from coordinating community outreach to managing partner relationships, helping create an unforgettable experience that strengthened lululemon’s local presence and energized its running community.

Global Run Day was a lululemon-wide initiative. The strategic challenge was executing it in a way that felt native to San Diego rather than handed down from headquarters. Running was a growth opportunity for the brand locally, but showing up credibly in a community with deep brand loyalties required more than a branded group run. The approach was built around a simple reframe: wellness isn't about restriction, it's about a life worth moving for. Partnering with AleSmith Brewing embodied that philosophy, bringing runners of all levels together for a group run followed by post-sweat celebrations with local vendors and music. The result was an activation that felt less like a corporate event and more like the city coming together, expanding lululemon's reach into the running community while proving that a global moment could land with genuine local soul.
